01-12-11Dutch online consumer expenditure soars to € 4.25 billion

Still a substantial 10% growth in online shopping
During the first half of 2011 the home-shopping turnover increased to €4.25 billion. This is a 10% increase in comparison with the first half of 2010. This is apparent from the Thuiswinkel Market Monitor 2011-1, the half-yearly research into online consumer expenditure that is commissioned by Thuiswinkel.org and carried out by Blauw Research in collaboration with GfK Retail & Technology.

Statutory deadlines are being introduced for the transition to European payments. That is good news to start with. After extensive consultations of the various parties involved in the national and European payment systems, the European Commission submitted a proposal for obligatory SEPA migration on 16 December 2010.
