The mobile version of the iDEAL payment system is catching on among consumers. 94% of the test group state that they regard the service as a welcome addition. Thuiswinkel.orgis keeping a watchful eye on its safe use.

The Rabobank has developed a mobile version of the iDEAL payment system which works via a Rabobank app. Those who participated in the test were asked to place orders with bol.com, Myorder or Thuisbezorgd.nl and to pay for them with iDEAL. After making payments, the consumers were asked about their experiences.

94% said they felt that iDEAL Mobile was a good addition to mobile banking via Rabobank. Nine out of ten participants expect to do more mobile shopping via iDEAL Mobile and 84% gave the service a score of 8 or more.

An initial reaction from Thuiswinkel.org is that they regard the results as ‘encouraging’. The association that promotes the interests of webshops has carried out intensive discussions with various banks and indicates its satisfaction with such initiatives. After all, there is an enormous demand within the market due to the increase in mobile commerce via smartphones and tablets. Furthermore, Thuiswinkel.org states that it will keep a watchful eye on the security of this application. Mobile versions of iDEAL must be just as reliable and safe. After all, the last thing we want is disappointed customers.
