Task 
Influencing, (inter)nationally, laws and legislation that are practicable for web-shops involved in distance selling to consumers.


Subjects
 
  • Promoting new self-regulation in relevant fields in preference to new laws and legislation 
  • Reinforcing existing self-regulation

Lobby issues 
  • Evaluating the general home-shopping terms and conditions with the Consumers’ Association, as approved in the SER (Social and Economic Council) consultation in October 2008 
  • Reviewing e-mail marketing code 
  • Drawing up a new affiliate marketing code between advertisers and affiliate networks

Other goals and activities 
  • Carrying out research into online settlement of complaints (ODR) 
  • Contributing to development of the Thuiswinkel Waarborg certification 
  • Clustering and managing fraud cases within a single platform (Incident Register)
