How to become a member
Admission criteria Businesses applying for (candidate-) membership of Thuiswinkel.org must:
- generate their turnover (or part of it) from the distance sale of products and/or services to consumers in the Netherlands
- comply with the assessment framework
- submit the fully completed application form
- enclose a recent (no more than 3 months old), certified extract from the Chamber of Commerce which indicates the trade name under which the business wishes to be included in Thuiswinkel.org’s list of members subsequent to becoming a member
- if the application is for normal membership, enclose the most recent annual financial report with the application
- when requested by the secretariat, provide a (/an accountant’s) statement annually to facilitate determination of the contribution payable
- undergo certification by the Thuiswinkel Waarborg Certification Foundation during the application procedures
Additional criteria for candidate-membership For the sake of clarity: candidate-members may only display the "Candidate-member of Thuiswinkel.org"-logo:
In addition to the above-mentioned criteria, the following conditions also apply for candidate-membership of Thuiswinkel.org :
- the business must have commenced its activities no longer than two years previously (the determining factor is the date of registration with the Chamber of Commerce )
- candidate-membership may continue for a maximum of three years and it will end automatically at the end of that period, without notice from either Thuiswinkel.org or the candidate-member
- Candidate-members may not hold a position on the Executive Board
- Candidate-members do not have a right to vote at the General Members’ Meeting
- Candidate-members are mentioned separately and not in Thuiswinkel.org´s official list of members
- Candidate-members can, as soon as they are able to provide a financial report, submit a premature application to convert their candidate-membership to normal membership
